Hey everyone! π
Every chicken keeper has a story about how they got started. Maybe you started with a couple of hens for fresh eggs, or maybe you jumped in headfirst with a full backyard flock. Either way, we all had a moment when we decided—yep, I’m going to raise chickens!
For me, it all started when I wanted to be more self-sufficient and have farm-fresh eggs. π³ I bought my first six chicks thinking that would be plenty (oh, how naive I was!). Fast forward a year, and now I have over [your current number] hens, a bigger coop than I ever imagined, and I can’t imagine life without them!
Some people start their chicken journey because they:
β
Want farm-fresh eggs that taste better than store-bought.
β
Love the idea of homesteading and sustainability.
β
Grew up with chickens and wanted to start their own flock.
β
Thought they’d get “just a couple” and caught the chicken addiction. ππ
So, what’s your story? How did you get started with chickens, and what made you decide to take the leap? Share your journey below—bonus points if you have old vs. new flock pictures! πΈπ
