Raising chickens is such a rewarding experience, but we all have different reasons for doing it. Some people are in it for the fresh eggs, others love the companionship of their flock, and some are focused on self-sufficiency and sustainability.
For me, it started with the idea of producing my own food. 🍳 There’s just something special about collecting fresh eggs every morning and knowing exactly where my food comes from. But over time, I realized that my hens are more than just egg producers—they’re entertainers, garden helpers, and even stress relievers!
I love sitting outside and watching them scratch around, dust bathe, and interact with each other. My favorite hen, Penny, even follows me around and “talks” to me like she’s part of the family. 🐓💛
