This is Bertha. She's a dark brahma. & she's "the baby" of all the chickens.
She's not the smallest or the youngest, in fact, she's our biggest chicken, out of 18, including the boys, and this spring she'll be a yr old. (This pic is several months old.)
She's considered "the baby" bcs she's gets held and carried around All The Time by my kids. And she doesn't mind one bit. She loves snuggles and lap naps. && she steals food and treats from her friends like she's starving the death and they just let her. And No, she's not high on the pecking order. She's just her own chicken. She wanders off on her own pretty often when free-ranging and my tiny bantam cochin roo with have to shoo her in the direction of the others.
It's ridiculous and absolutely adorable ❤️
