Raising chickens is a fun and rewarding experience, but let’s be honest—sometimes, we have to get creative to make things easier, cleaner, and more efficient. Over time, I’ve picked up a few game-changing hacks that have saved me time, effort, and even money.
Here are some of my favorites:
✅ DIY No-Spill Feeder – I used a large plastic bin with PVC pipe elbows to create a feeder that keeps feed dry and waste-free. No more chickens kicking feed everywhere! 🛠️
✅ Hanging Cabbage Toy – Want to keep your flock entertained? Hang a cabbage from a string in their run—it gives them something fun to peck at and keeps boredom at bay. 🥬
✅ Apple Cider Vinegar in Water – A little ACV in their water helps with digestion, keeps algae from growing in the waterer, and boosts their immune system. 🍏💧
✅ Frozen Treats for Hot Days – I freeze corn and berries in water and give them “chicken popsicles” on summer days. It keeps them cool and hydrated. ❄️
